The Friends of the Island Free Library have started 2020 off strong!  Their monthly membership meeting had a full agenda, including reports on membership, finances, programming and one from the library director. All news was good news!  Thank you to everyone who continues to donate to the Friends, they are doing a great job!

The Friends will be serving Lunch Bunch on February 18th and they have scheduled Someone Must Wash the Dishes: A “side-splitting” satire that helped women win the vote.  This one woman play performed by Michele LaRue heralding the 2020 Centennial of Woman Suffrage, will be on Saturday, March 21st at 4:00 PM.  The Friends, the library staff and The Block Island School are pioneering a new approach to SAT prep that will launch in February.  This is a very exciting program that we hope all 11th graders will take advantage of.  The Friends are also exploring a Snowy Owl program and more author events.  We look forward to posting more information about these events as the details become final.

The next Friends meeting is Tuesday, February 11th at 9:45 AM.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!
