Sea Breeze Artist Residency
October 19, 2024 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Angelina Gualdoni and Andrée Lockwood will be the new residents at The Sea Breeze Artist and Writer Residency for our October session.
Angelina Gualdoni is a painter living in New York City. Through use of pouring, staining, and patterning, she explores legibility – how we read — landscapes, both above and below the surface level. Angelina has shown nationally and internationally at the Queens Museum, NY, St. Louis Art Museum, MO, the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, IL, The Aldrich Museum, Connecticut, and at The Museum de Paviljoens, Netherlands. Her work has been reviewed in the New York Times, The New Yorker, and Art in America. She has been the beneficiary of several grants and fellowships, including Artadia, Pollock-Krasner, and is a two-time NYFA Fellow. Angelina has been awarded numerous residencies including a MacDowell Colony Fellowship and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture.
Andrée Lockwood’s new historical novel-in-progress, “The Calcoon Emerald,” is set in New York City just after the Civil War and brings to life multiple characters against the backdrop of that vibrant and restless time. Her earlier fiction has appeared in literary magazines including Epiphany, where it was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her work has also been anthologized in The Writers Studio at 30. A Yaddo Fellow, Andrée teaches fiction writing at NYC’s The Writer’s Studio. She was a producer of the WritersReadNYC reading series for more than a decade, highlighting the work of established and emerging authors. She has also been an adjunct professor at Baruch College, and an editor for Harry N. Abrams, Cambridge University Press, and Simon and Schuster.
All are welcome!
