For Teens

The Library Underground at the Island Free Library is our newly revamped Teen Space, and is designated for young adults in grades 6–12. It is located in the lower level of the library and is stocked with a growing collection of books and graphic novels. We have lounge chairs and a couch for reading and relaxing, and we also have tables for studying. Add a personal touch to the room by adding your own words or pictures to our chalkboard wall, or check out some resources for the upcoming SAT or ACT test. Challenge a friend to a game of chess or try out your dancing skills with the Wii. The Underground also has two state-of-the art Mac computers available for use, and laptops are also available to use — just ask at the front desk! Let any staff member know if you have a question or need help finding something — come check out the Underground!
