Dolly Parton has captivated audiences with her unmistakable voice and remarkable songwriting, while also making a lasting impact through her philanthropy and advocacy. From promoting literacy through the Imagination Library to supporting disaster relief efforts, Dolly has shown a deep commitment to compassion and kindness, and she deserves our heartfelt recognition.

Here on Block Island, we are proud to celebrate the Island Free Library chapter of Imagination Library, which serves the year-round population of Block Island and was the first chapter in the state. Since launching in 2018, the program has mailed 1,968 books to island children, with 24 active children currently enrolled and 39 children who have graduated from the program.

Join us in celebrating Dolly’s legacy on September 25th and honoring the joy, compassion, and positive change she has shared throughout her life.
