Join us at the Island Free Library reading room for an afternoon of poetry, read by Block Island’s prolific visionary, Nancy Walker Greenaway. Nancy has written poetry since childhood. Some of her poetry has appeared in the Asheville Review, the Texas Observer, Off the Coast, Balancing the Tides, Where Beach meets Ocean, Storms of the Inland Sea and Voices of the Earth: The Future of our Planet III.

Nancy is the host for “Voices from the Village” on Block Island in April for National Poetry Month.

Like many times before, she will be sharing the podium with her longtime friend, the very talented vocalist and acoustic guitarist, Jayme Hennessy. Jayme’s music and Nancy’s poetry have been side by side many times before. Jayme sings songs about life’s joys, longings, struggles and celebrations. Her music focuses on connecting people with raw emotion, creating a sonic space for transcendence.
